Venue & dates:

November 16th - November 20th, 2022

Hong Kong Cultural Centre in Tsim Sha Tsui

Typically held at atrium of the Hong Kong Cultural Centre in Tsim Sha Tsui, in the third or fourth quarter of the year. Dates are determined by the venue availability.

Available space for each participant:

There are 48 panel available, with 4 panels used for general exhibition information. Each panel measures 1X2m. as indicated in the diagrams below. Panel space is allocated equitably among exhibitors. Depending on the number of exhibitors each year, each participant typically receives ~2 panels. For instance, 22 exhibitors results in 2 panels per person, while 30 exhibitors results in just less than 1.5 per person.

Display of images

Please see panel layout plan (see below). Some images will be presented flat (2 panels next to each other), some on a corner spot and some in 2 sided panels (depending on the theme – eg. B&W, people, landscapes grouped together) and also depending on the photo size. This will be finalized during the setup on the 26th.

Exhibition fee

$200 - covers the space rental, flyers, posters, and additional advertising material. For any remaining funds, we arrange drinks on the opening night.

Details for prints & costs:

Typically, all photos are printed and mounted by the same printer for consistency across exhibitors, and ease of transportation. A club member will act as liaison between the printer and the exhibitors. They will review the submitted image files (files must be high resolution jpeg format), advise of any potential printing issues, and arrange communications and logistics with the printer.

Once all file submissions and sizes are confirmed by the exhibitors, printing quotations for each participant will be provided by the printer. Exhibitors are responsible for their own printing costs. Rough estimates based on previous years:

$175 for 30X45cm

$350 for 50X75cm

This year, some artists will be printing their own images, please discuss with the governing committee if you would like to produce your own prints.

Exhibition Catalogue

Since 2020 we have produced an exhibition catalog as an added dimension for the exhibition audience and a keepsake for the artists. Participation in the catalog is encouraged, but not required. Participants can purchase as few or as many copies as they wish, at the production cost.

Exhibitor Duties

All participants are required to setup and dismantle their own sections (typically Friday morning and Sunday night). Members who cannot come during setup / dismantle can arrange with someone else to take care of their prints during setup and dismantle. If not, prints will not be exhibited / will be discarded.
Additionally, each exhibitor is required to attend at least one 2hr volunteer shift during the exhibition. Exhibitors are encouraged to attend the show and interact with visitors throughout the weekend.

Opening night

All participants and their guests are encouraged to join on the opening night. We typically serve celebratory drinks and canapes, and take a group photo.

Marketing material

Press release will be distributed from the committee ~3 weeks before the event. Flyers will be given to members to distribute.

Visitor Voting

We provide voting forms for guests to vote for their favorite images. Winners get bragging rights.

We do this so viewers can engage with the photos, rather than just pass through the exhibition, and so that we can estimate attendance numbers.
